When a 16-year-old girl from Chicago is dumped on three elderly aunts in rural South Carolina, it's a battle of wills--north against the south and youthful rebellion versus traditional mores--until she realizes that these lost relatives, despite their old-fashioned ways, offer the security and sense of belonging that she so desperately seeks.
