Character Descriptions – Tail End Charlie
Robert Dobson (Mid-20s)
A decorated war hero returning home, Robert is determined to rebuild his life, but the past refuses to let go. Haunted by his experiences in combat and struggling to reconnect with his family, he soon realizes that war wasn’t the only battle he had to fight. As tensions rise, Robert is forced to confront painful truths—about his father, his brother, and himself.
Dorothy Dobson (Early 20s)
Dorothy has spent years waiting for Robert’s return, clinging to hope and the promise of a new beginning. But time changes people, and secrets have a way of surfacing. Fiercely loyal yet deeply conflicted, Dorothy carries the weight of a past she can’t erase and a future she’s unsure how to navigate.
George Dobson (Late 20s – Early 30s)
Robert’s older brother, George has always been the family’s black sheep. Left behind to manage their father’s decline and a struggling business, he’s fought his own demons—gambling, drinking, and a lifetime of resentment. Now, with Robert back, old wounds reopen, and George must prove whether he’s truly changed or if the past still owns him.
Frank (30s – 40s)
A smooth-talking, streetwise figure from George’s past, Frank is the kind of man who operates in shadows. Dangerous and unpredictable, he carries an air of menace wherever he goes. His arrival threatens to drag George back into a world he claims to have left behind—and Robert isn’t sure if Frank is real or just another ghost from his past.
Hyrum Dobson (Mid-50s – 60s)
The patriarch of the Dobson family, Hyrum is a man slipping between reality and memory. Once strong and commanding, his mind is now a battlefield of its own, riddled with confusion and regret. As his grip on the present fades, he clings to the past, desperate to hold onto the sons he has already lost in more ways than one.
Dr. Jonathan Ross (Mid-50s – 60s)
A longtime friend of the Dobson family and their physician, Dr. Ross serves as both a caretaker and a voice of reason. He has watched the family fracture over time and understands better than anyone the weight of the war—on both the battlefield and at home.
